To celebrate Chiropractic Awareness Week (10- 16th Aril 2017) Yorkshire Chiropractic Clinic are offering a 30% discount on new patient appointments.
This year the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) are focussing on technology.
Technology today can have a big effect on your spine. Laptops, ipads and smart phones are just a few things that can cause you to adopt a poor posture. Sitting in a slouched posture for a long period of time can have a negative effect on our spinal health.
According to recent BCA research it was found that:
“the main technology-related trigger that people attributed to their back and neck pain was found to be computer and laptop use. This was the case for all regions of the UK. Although people were citing technology as the trigger for their pain, only a relatively small percentage were limiting or stopping their usage due to concerns with their back/neck posture.”
- Sit up straight! Your bottom should be against the back of the chair. Try to keep your feet flat on the floor and avoid crossing your legs. Your hips should be higher than your knees.
- Take regular breaks! Limit the time you are spending on computers/laptops/at your desk. Have a stretch and walk around the office and try not to sit for longer than 20-30 minutes.
- Check your work space! Keep your screen at eye level and your keyboard and mouse close so you are not straining to reach them. If you spend a lot of time on the phone, try and switch to a headset to avoid strain on your neck.
- Listen to your body! If something is hurting and you are in pain don’t ignore it! Get it checked by your chiropractor!
Here at Yorkshire Chiropractic Clinic we are offering a 30% discount for all new patient appointments. The offer is running until the end of April-just quote “chiropractic awareness week” on booking.
